Spiritual Direction
Spiritual Direction is creating space to notice God’s presence in your life. The purpose of spiritual direction is to pause, slow down, and make time to deepen communion with God. In a spiritual direction relationship, the director comes alongside another to invite encounter with the Holy Spirit through a shared time of listening. Together, we pause to listen.

Pause
We are constantly surrounded by noise and distractions. In a spiritual direction session, the director sets the table for a distraction-free encounter with the Creator. We desire to pause and allow the Holy Spirit to guide our time together.

Listen
“In basic terms, silent prayer is the practice of focusing our attention upon God through the simplicity of shared presence. It’s a surrender of our words to be present with The Word (with Jesus).”
Rich Villodas, The Deeply Formed Life

Encounter
The goal of spiritual direction is to encounter God’s presence. To be sensitive to His promptings, and available to respond to Him.
Some of the fruit of spiritual direction may be a sense of wholeness, healing, hope, and transformation, but the main purpose is to deepen intimacy with the Living God.
